There is no room for a 5 v regulator, but the documentation I saw indicated the ability to power it from up to 12 volts.ĭo you have any idea of what the smallest 10 volt capacitor might be? Or do you have a specific recommendation?ĭoes the minim OSD require any additional hardware for flashing it? The Hobby King OSD I mentioned in my post above has the voltage and the elapsed time display in a black band across the bottom of the screen.ĭoes the minim OSD provide the ability to display information at user selected screen locations?Īlso, is the font and font color selectable? It does however not show up when viewing the FPV in goggles or an LCD screen which gets video from its own receiver. I just want to mention that Hubsan has some proprietary OSD which shows up if viewing the screen in one of their transmitters. if still going this way i'd use microminim osd and ensure you will provide power throught the "correct" power pads but why? isn't it easier to get a lipoalarm and become a deaf person as it will go off next to your ear ? as you will/might have osd from your quad to monitor it state you will get addtional overlay of the osd. you will need 5v power regulator (at least i always powered it with 5v) - If you go with microminim ost, you are cool with power from battery on this one linked yes minim osd can read directly from battery voltage (matter of settings) (1, 10:11 PM)Grisha0 Wrote: -yes minim osd can do it. It would be great if some of you could shed some light onto my questions. Is this required? If so where would connect that on the Hubsan H501S?I The minim OSD wiring diagrams I saw had a blue wire connecting to a terminal on the FC marked receiver.Would the minim OSD require a capacitor when powered from the Lipo?.My Hubsan H501S is powered by a 2S Lipo (8.4 v max). I don't know if this is only when powered from 12 volt. The minim OSD, according to some posts gets very hot and some have added heat sinks to it.

MINI MINIM OSD SERIES
The minim OSD would be usable without a flight controller, because it appears to be designed to used with various ones, while the 'SuperSimple OSD' from Hobby King is just a series connection between the camera and the VTX.The minim OSD would be a better choice.
MINI MINIM OSD INSTALL
I would like to install an OSD into this quad copter and have youtube video where someone used a 'SuperSimple OSD' from Hobby King. It works but it is scary to fly since my video comes from a cable connected to the transmitter and has no Lipo voltage display and no timer. That is why I've built Quanum box FPV set. The built in transmitter screen is unreadable. I have recently purchased a HUBSAN H501S. Believe it or not, I still have 2 of those and one is still flyable since I gutted it and installed a Naze 32. I have built several brushless quad copters from parts I got from Germany back in 2006. It was 1 channel, 1 tube and a compound escapement. Have been flying RC since 1954 as a kid in Germany.

I have a feeling that this forum may be mostly about drone racing and be mostly over my head, but I have done a bit quarter midget pylon racing in the 70's. I am an oldster(later 70s) and newbie to FPV.
